There is as much practical work as possible included in the session to give real hands-on experience and we will also incorporate (if requested) your companies policies and procedures.

We can cater for small groups of staff from 8 people to whole company groups.

This is suitable for new employees who need a basic awareness of food safety before they start work in any food premises. It is suitable for staff working with low risk or pre-packaged foods, waiters, porters and servery staff. Accredited with a QCF awarding body.

This course can be run for Retail, Catering or Manufacturing industries.

Duration: 3 hours

Level 2 Awards in Food Safety - Fundamental food hygiene training for all food handlers. Designed for anyone working in a catering, manufacturing or retail setting where food is prepared, cooked and handled.

Food hygiene certificates include:

• Level 2 Award in Food Safety in Catering
• Level 2 Award in Food Safety for Manufacturing
• Level 2 Award in Food Safety for Retail

Food hygiene and safety training providers have identified a growing need to make food safety learning more relevant to specific business environments to increase effectiveness. Reflecting sector-specific needs these food safety qualifications are required to address new National Occupational Standards. In line with this demand, Level 2 Awards in Food Safety have been designed to address the food safety and hygiene needs of the catering, manufacturing and retail sectors.

The course covers the following topics:

• Legislation
• Food safety and hygiene hazards
• Temperature control
• Refrigeration, chilling and cold holding
• Cooking, hot holding and reheating
• Food handling
• Principles of safe food storage
• Cleaning
• Food premises and equipment

Duration: 6 hours

Course can be run at times to suit your requirement/shift patterns. 2 x 3 hour sessions if required.

This course is suitable for all candidates who have previously taken a Level 2 Awards in Food Safety. They are recommended to take a refresher course three years after completion.

• Responsibilities for food safety
• Personal hygiene
• The work environment
• Product safety
