First Aid for Schools

All of these courses have been specifically developed to meet the needs of both primary and secondary schools. They are run at your school so that your staff can learn in a familiar setting with other people they already know leading to a relaxed and fun course.

The emphasis is to give staff the skills that they are going to need in an everyday situation when working with the children or having to deal with accidents to other members of staff. There is as much practical work as possible included in the session to give real hands-on experience.

We can cater for small groups of staff from 8 people to whole school groups of 40+ in one session.

This course is designed to give parents or carers an understanding of the basic first aid techniques for dealing with an accident in the home. It is a very practical based course so that students get a real opportunity to be able to practice CPR and recovery techniques for children and babies, as well as some of the possible childhood conditions they may encounter. The trainers are parents themselves and have a good understanding of how it feels to be in an emergency situation with your own child, which can be very different from dealing with complete strangers or work colleagues.

At the end of the course each student will get an Albany Training attendance certificate.

Duration: 3 hours

This course can be run during the daytime or evenings or weekends.

This is a fun but very vital skill for children to learn.

Our trainers will teach the children basic life saving techniques and other skills such as dealing with bleeding, bandaging and putting on slings. It is designed to fit in with the children’s normal school day and all we ask is that there is at least 1 member of staff present with the children throughout the course.

All trainers have a current and valid CRB checked and are used to teaching children.

At the end of the course the children are given a certificate, which shows the areas covered on the course. This could be used for other organisations such as Brownies, Guides, Cubs, Scouts or similar clubs.
