L3 First Aid at Work

This course is split into 2 modules.

MODULE 1 – E-LEARNING

Once you have your place confirmed for the course you will be sent a link to register to start the e-learning section.

Duration: Approximately 6 hours

Access: This online course can be completed on any PC or mobile device. Learners can study at their own pace, and log in and out as often as they wish

Features:

2. Allows learners to work at their own pace, testing their knowledge as they progress through the course
3. Provides a very thorough resource for those with English as a Second Language to equip them with the vocabulary, language skills and confidence to pass a practical course

Course content provides learners with the theoretical knowledge to:

  • understand the role and responsibilities of the first-aider
  • assess the situation and circumstances in order to act safely, promptly and
    effectively in an emergency
  • administer first aid to a casualty who is unresponsive (including seizure);
  • administer cardiopulmonary resuscitation and use an automated external defibrillator
  • administer first aid to a casualty who is choking
  • administer first aid to a casualty who is wounded and bleeding
  • administer first aid to a casualty who is suffering from shock
  • provide appropriate first aid for minor injuries (including small cuts, grazes and
    bruises, minor burns and scalds, small splinters)
  • recognise the presence of major illness (including heart attack, stroke, epilepsy, asthma, diabetes) and provide appropriate first aid
  • administer first aid to a casualty with:
    – injuries to bones, muscles and joints, including suspected spinal injuries;
    – chest injuries
    – burns and scalds
    – eye injuries
    – sudden poisoning
    – anaphylactic shock

PRACTICAL ASSESSMENTS

Duration: 12  hours (2 days)
