What to expect from the Parents First Aid course
We understand that being a parent is the busiest time of your life and it is not always convenient to attend Paediatric First Aid training face to face.
The First Aid for Parents and Child carers e-learning course gives parents, grandparents, babysitters etc the opportunity to learn Paediatric First Aid procedures in the comfort of their own home. Having the basic knowledge to deal with a first aid emergency can stop a minor incident from becoming a major one and in the worst case scenario can make the difference between a life lost and a life saved.
The course will cover the following topics:
Principles and Practices of First Aid
Unconscious Baby and Child
Child and Baby Resuscitation (Automated External Defibrillator Awareness)
Child and Baby Choking
Causes of Unconsciousness
Bleeding and Shock
Burns and Scalds
Eye and Ear Injuries
Sickle Cell Anaemia
Hypothermia / Heat Exhaustion / Heat Stroke
Epilepsy / Seizures
Anaphylaxis Shock (Auto Injector Awareness)
The course will take you approximately 4 hours but you can spend as little or as much time on each subject as you wish, and go forward or back through the course at any time.
This online course can be completed on any PC or mobile device. Study at your own pace and log in and out as often as you wish.
At the end of the course you will be able to print out a certificate to keep.
This course is not suitable for those who work in full time childcare and does not replace or update their L3 Paediatric First Aid certificate!
